DUI number 3 is what a Murfreesboro man has been charged with after an accident this past Saturday night.

According to police, the crash happened on the Murfreesboro square around 11:00 Saturday night. The person who was hit told officers that a man in a black Kia Soul ran into him and then fled the scene. A witness confirmed the story given to police.

Minutes after the collision, 34 Year old Ryan Manausa was pulled over on Greenland Drive. Manausa was driving a black Kia. The local resident admitted to police that he was involved in an accident on the square and left without exchanging insurance information with the other driver.

After a failed field sobriety test, Manausa was arrested on his third DUI charge. He was also charged with leaving the scene of an injury accident as the victim who was hit had to be transported to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Manausa is currently free on bond after being jailed for his third DUI charge and with leaving the scene of an accident. He is due in court on May 2, 2017.
