A follow up on the reported federal marshal arrested in Murfreesboro on various driving under the influence charges. Murfreesboro Police Major Clyde Adkison tells WGNS News 64-year old William Roper is employed with the T.S.A. Office of Law Enforcement as a civilian position of mission support.

It was reported through various OTHER media outlets that Roper was a United States Marshal.

Adkison says the report stated his employment as "federal government" and his occupation was "federal marshal." The major went as far as to contact the U-S Marshal Service in Nashville to verify that Roper was indeed NOT a United States Marshal.
