A 42-year old Duson Boulevard man has been charged with rape. Scott Derrick Johnson was arrested Monday by Murfreesboro Police detectives.

This after a 32-year old North Academy woman called authorities to report she'd been raped. The victim was taken to the St. Thomas Rutherford emergency room and Johnson was developed as a suspect.

According to the arrest report, Detective Wayne Lawson went to Johnson's apartment and was taken to the police department for questioning. It was during the questioning, he reported admitted to the rape.

Johnson was taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center and will face the charge in General Sessions Court on July 25th.
