A high speed chase lasted only a couple of minutes and police nabbed their suspect. On Friday morning, police in Smyrna got a call involving a Mustang that was following a driver too closely. When police pulled in behind the Mustang, the driver fled the area as best he could. Authorities say they ran the tags on the car and they returned as “stolen.”

The Mustang went from Smyrna to Murfreesboro where driver Danny Collier wrecked on Battleground Drive. The 25-year old was arrested and taken to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center. No word on why he was allegedly following another motorist too closely, but we may have some insight into why he was said to have run from police.

Collier, who was driving on a revoked license, was booked into the county jail at 3:45, Friday morning. He was charged with driving on a revoked license, evading arrest in a motor vehicle, theft of property, vandalisim and violation of probation.
