Early voting for the November 4th general election will begin Wednesday and continue through October 30th.

On the ballot will be races for state and federal offices, as well as four proposed amendments to the Tennessee Constitution.

While the November 4th election has generated little enthusiam, there are important municipal races on the ballot in Eagleville, Smyrna and La Vergne. Murfreesboro voters will choose a new city councilman to replace Toby Gilley, who was elected to a judgeship in the last election.

There are few contested state races. Republican incumbent 49th District Representative Mike Sparks will face a challenge from Democrat Mike Williams. In the 48th District, Republican Bryan Terry will face Democrat Bill Campbell. The winner will fill the seat of Joe Carr, who ran against Lamar Alexander for U-S Senate.

This will also be the first election for new Rutherford County Election Administrator Alan Farley.
