Usually when multiple 12-packs of beverages are stolen, the theft involves beer. That was not the case on Monday. Police were dispatched to one of two Mapco gas stations on South Church Street after a man walked in, snatched eight tweleve packs of Mountain Dew and walked out without paying for it. Two customers standing in line at the time of the theft were able to write down the license plate of the suspect vehicle after the theft, but no arrests have been made.

When authorities tried to track down the license plate number, it was realized that the plate was stolen out of Smyrna. The stolen plate was on a red Nissan truck.
