No matter whether you are looking for a costume for Halloween, a play, a talent show, a dance audition, or a recital, from October 11 through October 13 The Dance Store in Murfreesboro will be offering slightly used costumes for sale for $25 and under. Proceeds from the sale will be benefiting the Dance for Hope Scholarship Fund. These funds will provide scholarships for young dancers to go to summer dance programs and intensives.

This inaugural costume sale will be an opportunity for dancers and non-dancers to find a beautiful outfit. An old lyrical dance costume may be used for an audition or make a wonderful bride costume. A former tap costume might find its way into a play. With a small alteration and a dash of imagination, any of these costumes can find a new life. Or one child's first dance costume might inspire a new young dancer just starting lessons.

"We hope that our costume trade-in and sale will become an annual tradition," said June Bilbo, co-owner of The Dance Store.

There will be everything from sparkly tutus and fairy wings perfect for her first recital to one for the "King of Pop." This sale will help put gently used recital costumes to new use, they will be refreshed for another child.

"This sale will give other kids who may not be able to afford fancy costumes an opportunity to dress up in something beautiful," said June Bilbo, co-owner of The Dance Store. " Being a dance mom myself, I know about having a closet full of my daughters' costumes. They are all grown up now, but I still have their first outfits. Yet, I also found out that I couldn't keep them all. I had to let them go. We offer an opportunity to give to a good cause, and to feed the imaginations of the next generation of dancers of all ages."

The sale will take place at The Dance Store from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm on Thursday and Friday, and from 10:00 am until 4:00 pm. On Saturday. For more information about The Dance Store visit their website or Facebook page or look for #danceintheboro.
