One of the main signs at Oaklands Mansion and Museum in Murfreesboro has been damaged. The City of Murfreesboro reported to police that the damage to the entrance sign occurred several months ago, but was just reported this month (1/3/2013). The damage occurred during a special event at the facility on Maney Avenue. It is believed that a school bus actually backed into the sign causing extensive damage. The damage was estimated to be in the ballpark of $2,500. It is not known if the school bus driver knew they hit the sign.
