Rain, followed by freezing temperatures and even a little snow, may be annoying for some. For drivers, it's going to be a bigger issue and it's not because of slick streets.
The freezing and thawing will make the area's pothole problems even worse. Work crews have been filling potholes as quickly as they can with a cold mix. With spring just around the corner, crews will have an even better solution to potholes soon.
Hot mix plants will be opening in the next several weeks and officials say it makes for better pothole repair material than the cold mix, which is the only thing available in the winter months.
Motorists should be on the lookout for potholes as you drive Rutherford County roads. Also, watch out for work crews working to repair all of those potholes.
