Farmers Market this week in Murfreesboro

The Rutherford County Farmers' Market is open Tuesdays and Fridays from 7 a.m. to noon at the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, 315 John R. Rice Blvd, Murfreesboro. As always, it is a producer only market.

Here are the free weekly classes at the Farmer's Market for the upcoming week

Sept 29th

"Seasonal Eating Cooking Demo" is the class on Tuesday, Sept 29th. The class is presented by Extension Agent Carla Bush. She will be using vegetables available at the Farmer's Market to cook and create dishes. Samples and recipes! This Rutherford County Farmer's Market class is free and begins at 9 a.m. in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd.

October 2

On Friday, October 2nd, the topic is "Native Bees: The Unknown Soldiers" given by Paula Rooker, biologist from TWRA. This class is about supporting and attracting the native bees species. This event is free and is from 9 a.m.to noon in the Lane Agri-Park Community Center, located at 315 John R. Rice Blvd.

New to the Farmer's Market is the ongoing demonstration program called, "Farmers' Market Fresh." Sisters June Holt and Marlena Gregory prepare a dish and offer samples from one of the in season fruit or vegetable. The recipes for the dishes will be provided as well as other literature on preserving food. This booth will be open about 9 a.m. to noon on both Tues and Fri.
