A two car accident on Highway 99 in Rockvale takes the life of a child and injures four others. It happened Friday just after 11am. The Tennessee Highway Patrol reports two vehicles were traveling eastbound on Highway 99 when a Kia stopped in the roadway and an SUV traveling behind, crashed into the car. Two of the crash victims were flown to Vanderbilt Medical Center via Lifeflight. Others were taken to the hospital by ambulance. The T-H-P reports the child killed was in a child safety seat. The driver of the S-U-V told authorities he looked down for a second and looked up to see the Kia stopped in front of him and he couldn't brake in time. He was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.
