VERBATIM:

Fire ripped through the metal building that once housed the Smyrna Ready Mix offices. Hazardous materials in the building and a lack of a close water source made battling the blaze difficult. There were only a few employees there when the fire broke out and they all made it out okay. No one, including those battling the fire, was hurt.  Investigators remained at the scene, combing through the charred building remains to try to determine a cause of the fire.

Crews from Walter Hill, Alamaville, Lascassas and Rutherford County Volunteer Fire Departments along with Rutherford and Wilson County Emergency Management, Rutherford County Emergency Medical Services and the Rutherford County Sheriff's Department responded to the blaze.
