The City of Murfreesboro Golf Department is proud to announce the 2016 "Ford of Murfreesboro Ace the Majors" fundraising campaign at Bloomfield Links.

One of the six Major PGA fundraising events was held during the weekend of the Masters, April 9-10. Five more fundraising events are scheduled throughout the summer:

• The U.S. Open, June 18-19
• The British Open, July 16-17
• The PGA, July 30-31
• The Olympics, August 13-14
• Shootout, August 20

During each of the "Ace the Majors" weekend events, golfers are invited to play "closest to the hole" contests at Bloomfield Links. The cost is $10 a day and includes green fee and the contests. Participants can play as many times each day as desired but must pay $10 per day

Each of the five weekends, 6 golfers qualify for a shootout, Saturday, August, 20, 2016, and a chance for 30 qualifying golfers to win a new Ford Mustang from Ford of Murfreesboro. "We are excited about the "Ace the Majors" fundraising events and grateful to our sponsor Ford of Murfreesboro for participating in the campaign at Bloomfield Links," said Director of Golf Tracy Wilkins.

"Prizes will be awarded to each of the 30 qualifiers and if no one wins the Ford Mustang with a hole-in-one, someone will win a set of Titleist 914 Irons for closest to the hole."

The City of Murfreesboro Golf Department oversees three public courses: Old Fort Golf Club; an 18-hole championship course, 1028 Golf Lane; the Veterans Golf Course, a nine-hole executive walking course on property leased from the Department of Veterans Affairs, 3400 Lebanon Rd; and Bloomfield Links, a 6-hole course designed for youth, ladies, seniors and beginners.
