Smyrna Police are looking for a bank robbery suspect. Bobby Gibson with Smyrna Police tells NewsRadio WGNS a black male suspect entered the Franklin Synergy Bank on Sam Ridley Parkway Friday and handed a note demanding money to the teller. While he did not display a firearm, he implied he was armed.

Gibson says the teller complied with the suspect's demand and received an undisclosed amount of money. The suspect ran out the rear entrance of the bank and was last seen running into the parking lot of a business across the street.

The suspect was described as a black male in his 30's, approximately 6 to 6'2", thin build, last seen wearing a light colored button up shirt, blue jeans and a green baseball cap. He may have been driving a dark colored, four-door, mid-size sedan.

It is believed the suspect is responsible for several bank robberies that have occurred in recent weeks in the Middle Tennessee area. Anyone with information is urged to call Detective Rick Hall at (615)267-5012 or Smyrna Police Department at (615)459-6644.
