Free Breakfast and Lunch this Summer in Rutherford County for children and teens

Free meals will again be offered to those who are 18 or younger throughout Rutherford County this summer. Mary Lee Smith with the Murfreesboro City Schools told WGNS that over 25 sites will host free breakfast and lunch programs. One of the many sites includes Mitchel Neilson Elementary School...

For those who do not live near a meal site, a chow bus will hit the road to serve the underserved...


The program is paid for with state and federal grants through the U.S. Department of Agriculture.


The Rutherford County Schools will also participate in the Summer Food Service Program Monday-Friday May 31-July 29, 2016.
