Murfreesboro Fire & Rescue Department's District 1 and Rescue 8 responded to a fire call at 1004 Ewing Boulevard just after 7:00 Friday evening.
According to Assistant Fire Marshal Tracy Summar, crews quickly extinguished the fire, which seems to have started in a bedroom. "The room only has minimal fire damage," said Summar. "It also suffered moderate smoke damage and a small amount of water damage." Summar also mentioned that crews did a great job keeping the damage to a minimum.
The residents of the affected unit were displaced and offered assistance from the Red Cross, but had another place to stay.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
