Fundraiser 5k in Murfreesboro at New Vision Baptist

On August 1, 2015 the teen-led non-profit called S.A.V.E. (Sustaining A Village Everyday) is hosting a 5k at New Vision Baptist Church: 1750 N Thompson Lane, Murfreesboro, TN registration: 6:00 am and race begins at 7:00am.

S.A.V.E. is a group of 17 teenagers that have come together with a passion to achieve something bigger than themselves. S.A.V.E., under the guidance of Executive Director-Kristi Cochrane, work to raise $25,000 annually to sustain the village of Boukeron, Haiti. In the past 4 years, S.A.V.E. has supported Boukeron by: digging wells, building cisterns, establishing a goat husbandry program, building relationships with the leaders in the community, and by empowering Haitian teens - who participate in a leadership program that pays for their education in exchange for their effort in helping eliminate adult village illiteracy.

According to the group, "All are invited to this amazing event. $35 for registration you can run a 5k on a certified race course and support our fantastic cause. Please come out and run with us on August 1. Your participation will help us to invest in Haitian sustainable projects while empowering Rutherford County teen leaders the opportunity to learn how to be the change they want to see in the world."
