One of the corrections officers shot and killed after their prison transport bus was taken over by two inmates has been laid to rest.
Sgt. Curtis Billue was remembered Saturday during funeral services in Wilkinson County, Georgia. He was the caregiver for his elderly father and leaves behind two sons.
Services for Sgt. Christopher Monica will be held Tuesday beginning at 11am in Millidgeville, Georgia. He leaves behind two daughters and two grandchildren.
Ricky Dubose and Donnie Rowe are charged in the murders of the officers. They escaped a prison transport and were on the run for a couple of days before surrendering here in Rutherford County.
