AAA's weekly gas report shows prices across the nation are on the increase. Here in Murfreesboro, most discounters are remaining stable with a few offering regular gas at $1.93. That's an increase of 2-cents from the previous week. However, many are selling petro for $1.97 locally.

Nationally, AAA reports that gas prices edged up higher fractions of a penny over the weekend to reach today's average price of $2.28. This is seven cents less per gallon on the month and an increase of 58 cents per gallon compared to this same date last year.

Forecasters call for a seasonal increase as suppliers prepare to offer the "summer blends of gasoline". To make the process even more costly for fuel suppliers, the blends differ depending on the heat of each region.
