The so called Gateway Island, which is a pond along the Greenway trail system in Murfreesboro, is in the midst of being repaired. The pond is nearly empty today. City manager Rob Lyons stated…

The location of the pond was once a landfill. When Medical Center Parkway was built and the Gateway zone officially opened, the city turned that property into a functional park.
