GOOD NEWS: Nissan and Education Expands in Smyrna, TN

Good news for Smyrna. The ground breaking ceremony for the Tennessee College of Applied Technology and the Nissan Training Center will be the focus of an upcoming groundbreaking ceremony on Monday (December 8, 2014). Governor Bill Haslam will speak at the ceremony along with Nissan Motor Company Vice President Jose Munoz.

According to the state, the Tennessee Board of Regents will build the 150,000+ square-foot education and training facility in Smyrna near the Nissan North America Vehicle Assembly Plant in Smyrna. The expected completion target is September 2016. The facility will operate as an extension of the Tennessee College of Applied Technology campus at Murfreesboro. TCAT-Murfreesboro and Nissan will occupy it jointly.
