That was Kenny Thompson. The fire was next to a farmers field on the Bradyville Highway near Dilton Makin Road...

The fire was extinguished by 57-year-old Thompson and his 17-year-old son William Loftis.

Thompson told us that two others stopped to help, but he didn't get their names.

Thompson told WGNS that the fire may have been caused by someone throwing their cigarette out the window. The National Fire Protection Association reports that Smoking materials, including cigarettes, pipes, and cigars, started an estimated 17,200 home structure fires in 2014 alone. These fires caused 570 deaths and $426 million in direct property damage.
