NOTE: This case is extremely graphic:
Looking back to 1994, Davidson County resident Charolette Lottie Scott was brutally murdered. The case was moved to Rutherford County after it was first opened in Nashville because Scott was dating a Smyrna man when she went missing.
Lottie Scott stood at 4-foot 11-inches in 1994 and weighed less than 130-pounds. She was 72-years of age when she was killed by Ricky Bryan of Smyrna. When her body was located, her ribs were fractured a total of 44-times and her breast were amputated. Assistant District Attorney J. Paul Newman discusses the case that is now 20-years old (Complete interview 12-min and 15-sec)…
Ricky Bryan was convicted of first degree murder and subsequently sentenced to life in prison without the possibility of parole. The state did not seek the death penalty in this case.
