Greenhouse Ministries accepted a grant for $20,000 from Publix Super Market Charities on Aug. 31 at their headquarters in Lakeland, Florida.

The grant provided money to stock the food pantry and provided a sponsorship for Greenhouse Ministries' GameDay Event to raise money for their new building. The grant also provided Greenhouse Ministries with the funds to purchase a new box truck to do food and furniture pickups. Greenhouse Ministries' Investor Relations Specialist, Sarah Gwinn, describes the excitement from receiving the grant.

"This generous grant from Publix Super Markets Charities is a huge blessing to our organization," Gwinn said. "This corporate grant will enable us to continue fighting hunger for many years to come with the purchase of a new box truck and funding support of our food pantry. We would be hard pressed to grow our programs without the partnership of our local stores and Publix Super Markets Charities!"

Publix Charities donated $5 million overall to the Feeding America Network. This generous donation continues Publix Super Markets Charities' commitment to meeting the basic needs of the communities it serves.
