Nashville Metro Police are asking for the public's help throughout Middle Tennessee in locating a domestic violence suspect.

Police are attempting to locate accused batterer William R. Fitts, 40, who is alleged to have twice assaulted his ex-fiancé last month.

Fitts is charged in domestic assault warrants with striking the victim on her back with a leather belt, leaving bruises, and with punching her in the face two days later. Her right eye became swollen shut as a result.

Fitts is last known to have lived in the Neelys Bend Road area in Nashville.

He has previously been convicted of felony aggravated assault and is considered by detectives to be a high risk offender. Anyone seeing William Fitts or knowing his whereabouts is asked to contact Crime Stoppers at 615-742-7463. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and qualify for a cash reward.
