"I believe that students who graduate from this academy will develop a clear understanding of police services," said Police Chief Mike Walker. "It offers hands-on experiences and insights into the nature of law enforcement in La Vergne. The academy is designed to build community understanding and a working knowledge of our department."

The classes will be held Monday nights from 5:30 - 8:30 p.m. at the La Vergne Police Department, located behind City Hall at 5093 Murfreesboro Rd. The only Tuesday class is October 14 due to a scheduling conflict.

Seating is limited, so applications should be turned in no later than October 4 at the police department. For more information, contact Community Liaison Officer Sheree Robertson at (615) 287-8618.
