Heavy Rain Creates Ruth. Co. Flooding

Several days of heavy rainfall has left behind flooding. There are several high water road closures in the county.

In La Vergne, Rutherford County Emergency Management Agency reports closures on Old Waldron Road at the bridge underpass, on Minerva Drive at Percy Street, Mercury Drive at Mars Street and Waldron Road at Bridgestone Parkway.

A temporary shelter has been established at the Church of Christ on Old Nashville Highway for those who need to use it.

In Smyrna, flooding has forced closures on Rock Springs Road. In Murfreesboro on Malloy Lane and the county, Elam Mill Road at the County Farm slab.

Emergency management officials remind all motorists to stay clear of the high water hazards.

Several Rutherford County roads are closed or dangerous due to excessive rain.

Roads closed are both sides of Elam Mill at the slab, County Farm Road, Thompson at Armstrong Valley Road, Stones River at the slab, Mount Herman at Weeks Road, the 5300 black of Epps Mill Road, the 4300 block of Elam Road and Mount Herman at Bradyville.

In addition, impassable roads are Shoemaker at the bridge, the 3500 block of Veals and Old Salem near Rockvale.

High water is standing at 131 Rosswood Drive, Hedgeapple Road, Cranor Road at Old Woodbury Highway, Sulphur Springs at Shacklett and North Lamar and Rockdale Fellowship.

Please use extreme caution and don't drive into standing water.
