The Noon Exchange Club is hosting a local Veterans Matter rally 11/11@7 to kick off a fundraising effort to house homeless veterans. For every $750 raised, a homeless veterans receives housing. Through national campaign efforts 800 veterans now have a home, but there are thousands more still homeless. This local rally and chili contests engages our neighbors with our local fire and rescue community to have some fun honoring these brave soldiers, and to end homelessness for veterans. Club President, JoAnne Thompson Skidmore remarked, "It is going to be a great event honoring our brave soldiers, housing homeless veterans, as well as enjoying some of the best chili in Middle Tennessee."

Members of the Exchange Club and our very own Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue will be participating in the Chili Cook off for the Grand Prize winner, as well as BEST CHILI in three categories, MILD- HOT and Extravaganza. Noon Exchange welcomes their official panel of judges; Vice-Mayor Jeff Davidson, Veterans Affairs Dominick Grimaldi and State Senator Jim Tracy. Many local officials as well as Congressman Scott DeJarlais are expected to attend. All donations received are being given to Veterans Matter in honor of our brave men and women at the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue. Checks made payable to Veterans Matter will be accepted at the door or anyone can go online and make their tax deductible donation and bring a copy of their receipt to the rally and receive their meal. Club President, JoAnne Thompson Skidmore remarked, "Noon Exchange Club board member, Nancy McGill is chairing the Murfreesboro event and she's done a tremendous job putting this event together. The National Exchange Club has partnered with Veterans Matters in this effort to house our homeless veterans. All proceeds are going directly to Veterans Matter in honor of the Murfreesboro Fire and Rescue and we will have some great chili and fellowship to enjoy. It's a WIN! WIN! WIN! The rally is sure to be moving, as well as festive with great food, door prizes and giveaways. Let's get together and house our veterans!"
