The Rutherford County Sheriff’s Office was involved in a high speed pursuit on Wednesday at 3:15. A Sheriff Deputy reported that he attempted to pull over a silver Chrysler that was driving reckless on I-24 west. Between the Medical Center Parkway Exit and State Route 840, the car reached speeds of 112 miles per hour.

Before a stop could be made, the deputy involved in the pursuit was ordered to stop and let the driver proceed. The information was then called in to the Smyrna and LaVergne Police Departments to be on the lookout for the culprit. The highway patrol was also notified. The Sheriff’s Department ended the pursuit just past State Route 840 at 3:34, Wednesday afternoon. At this point, there has been no word on the car being stopped or an arrest being made.
