Hillwood Court Man Faces Burglary, Assault & Drug Charges

A 19-year old Hillwood Court man faces various burglary, assault and drug charges. Murfreesboro Police report they were called to the 200 block of Hillwood Court in reference to a suicidal subject, possibly armed with an AR-15. When officers arrived, they searched the residence and finally found the subject, John Jacob Thompson, inside a patio storage closet. When officers were able to subdue the subject, they reported a strong smell of marijuana. Inside the closet was a cooler, which they report finding marijuana inside. Thompson claimed it was his after being taken to a patrol car for questioning. A search of the home found an AR-15 in a case in the closet along with digital scales in the kitchen. Thompson was taken to St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital for evaluation and then to the Rutherford County Adult Detention Center for booking in lieu of $13,500 bond. He was charged with felony possession of marijauna, drug paraphanalia along with several other charges. Thompson will be in General Sessions Court on December 4th.
