Rutherford County Fire Rescue stations 1 and 2 responded to a structure fire on Trotters Lane in Rockvale at 5:45 Thanksgiving morning. The home was fully engulfed in flames when firefighters arrived on the scene.

There was one person home at the time of the fire, but they escaped uninjured.

The fire appeared to have started in the garage area, spreading into the living area of the home. "The American Red Cross was called to assist the family with clothes vouchers and other needed items," said Rutherford County Fire Chief Larry Farley.

The fire is under investigation at this time. "It was fortunate no one was hurt and everyone got out safely", Farley said.
