When it comes to getting what you want, you are your own best advocate. If you are waiting for your boss to recognize your great work and give you the title and raise you deserve, you will probably be waiting a really, long time. Provonchee's talk will give you the tools and skills you need to be a better advocate for the most important person in the room: You!

The RUTHERFORD Cable monthly meeting is at Stones River Country Club, 1830 N.W. Broad St. in Murfreesboro. RUTHERFORD Cable members and guests are welcome, and the public is invited to attend. The cost for the meeting is $20 for members and $25 for nonmembers and includes breakfast. Reservations are required and can be made online at Reservations must be made by Noon on Friday, October 5. A limited number of seats will be available for walk-ups on a first-come, first-serve basis with an additional $5 late-registration fee.

Provonchee will be speak about how to determine your market value and ask for the raise, promotion or the title change you want. Learn the best time to ask for a raise and how to address the most common obstacles to salary negotiations. "You are your own best advocate. And, cold-hard truth here: If you don't do it, no one else will either," Provonchee noted.
