The Rutherford County Pet Adoption and Welfare Services Office in Murfreesboro is offering FREE cat or kitten spay and neuter services to residents of Smyrna and LaVergne. The surgery for your beloved cat is made possible because of a special grant from PetSmart Charities.

WGNS was informed there is no cost to the pet owner, plus the pet will receive a free rabies vaccination and microchip with the surgery. The goal is to help 1,000 cats and kittens by the end of January - 2014.

Why Only Smyrna and LaVergne?

The question was asked to WGNS... Why only Smyrna and LaVergne? The grant that was approved included only Smyrna and LaVergne because past studies have showed that there is a much higher demand in those two areas when compared to Murfreesboro. One of the problems is that residents in Nashville often drop off their unwanted cats in neighboring LaVergne.
