The Environmental Education Outdoor Classroom, located across from the Farmers' Market at the Extension Office at 315 John R. Rice Boulevard, will host several fun activities this week.
Friday, July 17, the lesson is called Monarch Migration. Guest speaker, Courtney Morgan, will teach about how and why Monarch butterflies travel from Mexico to Canada and the long journey back. It's a fascinating look into this natural phenomenon.
In addition, the Outdoor Classroom always offers free activities for kids of all ages and the young at heart. The goal is to educate about the importance of recycling and water quality in a friendly, hands-on way to engage young minds. Children must always be accompanied by a parent or responsible adult.
