Dennis Rainier is now at Vanderbilt Hospital, but family members stress that he is not in a condition to have visitors. His wife Nancy said they flew to Nashville and arrived around 8:00 o'clock Sunday night (9/18/2011). She said that Dennis is resting and under the influence of medicine and he has not had any solid food for a few days.

Nancy commented, "We have felt the prayers and warm wishes from everyone there. There has been a great outpouring of love and we really appreciate it!"

As you recall from earlier reports, Murfreesboro City School Board member Dennis Rainier was vacationing in Florida when he became ill. He was rushed to Baptist Hospital in Pensacola where he stayed for almost a week.

Nancy Rainier said, "The doctors in Florida called Dennis the medical mystery man, because other than a Urinary Tract Infection, they have not been able to find anything concrete. He was running extremely high fevers for days."

Last Thursday night (9/15/2011), his wife was called back to the hospital in Pensacola where she was told Dennis had a stroke. At that time, Nancy said, "It was located in the brain stem. We are so thankful that most of the symptoms seem to have faded away."

Dennis Rainier is a member of the Murfreesboro City School Board and was director of the Murfreesboro Parks and Recreation Department for over 27-years.
