The Tennessee State Museum reopened to the public on July 1, 2020. The state museum is a place where you can experience Tennessee history, art, and culture from the state’s natural history beginnings through the present day.

Visits to the museum are free.

Museum operators report, “We have taken the Tennessee Pledge and are committed to protecting the customers that we serve.” The new rules for visiting require a mask and before you enter staff will check your temperature to ensure that you are well enough to visit. Officials are also asking guest to stay 6 feet apart.

The Museum is conveniently located at the corner of Rosa L. Parks Blvd. and Jefferson Street, adjacent to the Nashville Farmers’ Market at the Bicentennial Capitol Mall State Park. Free parking is available in lot shared by the Museum and the Farmers’ Market.

The Museum will be open its normal hours:
Sunday: 1 p.m. – 5 p.m.
Monday: closed
Tuesday-Wednesday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
Thursday: 10 a.m. – 8 p.m.
Friday-Saturday: 10 a.m. – 5 p.m.
