(MURFREESBORO)  School Resource Officer John Action has been promoted to sergeant. 

Sheriff Mike Fitzhugh promoted the 20 year officer, who served in the patrol division for two years before being promoted to SRO at Smyrna High School.

Acton will now supervise Rutherford County's School Resource Officers Program.
