Murfreesboro Electric customers will notice some changes to their bill, now that the utility provider is under the management and ownership of Middle Tennessee Electric.

Spokesperson Amy Byers talked to WGNS about the new bill that former Murfreesboro Electric customers have been receiving this month…



Byers said that Murfreesboro Electric was under the guidance or ownership of the City and board members were appointed. With Middle Tennessee Electric, the utility is a cooperative owned by its customers or "members."



Members (customers) owning the electric provider have the opportunity to have a say in the utility provider, which is why Middle Tennessee Electric holds an annual membership meeting.



Again, this year a "virtual" or online membership meeting will be held by Middle Tennessee Electric.
