COVID-19 Continues in Rutherford County and Beyond

Between July 21st and July 29th, 966 more people have tested positive for COVID 19 in Rutherford County. Those numbers will continue to climb. Right now, the number of positive cases since the start of the Pandemic rings in at 5,682 for Rutherford County.

Dr. Julian Yang at Saint Thomas Rutherford told WGNS NEWS that the pandemic is still a very serious situation that should not be taken lightly.

As of Wednesday (7/29/2020), 49 deaths related to the coronavirus have been confirmed in Rutherford County.

If you are extremely ill and rushed to the emergency room with COVID-19 symptoms, patient test results in those cases are often returned within 24 hours. 

Outside of the ER, testing for COVID-19 is free at the Rutherford County Health Department. Results are typically confirmed in about 6 days, depending on how many tests are being conducted at the time of your visit.

Across the Volunteer State, a total of 100,822 COVID-19 cases have been reported and 62,129 people have alredy recovered (as of 7/29/2020).
