Habitat for Humanity is asking the community to come together for their Front Line Workers during a “Virtual Nail Drive.” The project will equal a new house for Melody and her three children.
"They saw something in me that I didn't see myself," she states. Her teachers helped her believe in herself and that she had the smarts to get a good education and move forward with her life.
Melody moved to Tennessee where she got her LPN nursing degree at TCAT (Tennessee College of Applied Technology). She has been working double time providing home health to the elderly and kids during the Covid-19 pandemic. When things settle down, she plans to resume her education and become a forensic nurse for the FBI. She also pays it forward by mentoring troubled teens.
Her new Habitat home will be built right here in Rutherford County, which is where Melody now calls home!
Help build Melody's house for her and daughter, age 7, and twins, age 2, during Rutherford County Habitat for Humanity’s "Virtual Nail Drive"! $20 buys a bucket of nails (it takes about 12,000 nails to build her house - or about 40 buckets!), $45 buys a pre-cut bundle of R-19 insulation (we need 15 for Melody's house), $90 buys an interior door, $138 buys a double-hung window and $250 buys the front door.
