COVID-19 is forcing the temporary closure of the Event Center in Smyrna. The building will be closed for ten days because employees are under quarantine for the coronavirus.  Officials say the center will be thoroughly cleaned during the closure.

In COVID-19 Related School news, students in seven school districts across the state will soon have access to rapid COVID-19 testing.  Rapid testing for the coronavirus is seen as an important component to keeping students and staff as safe as possible to allow for in-person learning.  Hamilton and Rutherford County are among those signed up for the program, although Rutherford County school officials say it will only be used for employees.
