COVID Vaccinations have been administered to multiple first responders and healthcare providers in Rutherford County. WGNS was told by County Mayor Bill Ketron that the process takes about 15-minutes per patient.  

After the first vaccination is received, a second shot will have to be administered between 21 and 28-days, according to Public Safety Director Chris Clark.



Clark said that public health officials have been well organized in administering the COVID Vaccines.



Vaccines will continue to be administered through the 4th quarter of 2021.

Different phases will allow the public to know the dates of when they maybe eligable to receive the vaccine. Currently, Rutherford County is in the second phase of vaccines known as 1a2. Phase three or phase 1b will likely begin in February, which will include vaccines for school, childcare staff and first responder administrators.
