UPDATE: Vaccinating for COVID-19 in Rutherford County

Jan 18, 2021 at 10:55 am by WGNS

The different stages of when and to who the COVID-19 Vaccine can be given to residents continues to confuse some, while others have moved forward with vaccinations without issue. To make the vaccination process more confusing, the timeline of vaccination phases varies from one county to another.

The good news is that vaccines are available in all 95 counties and continue to be administered, based upon individual risks. The bad news… the estimated timeline of vaccine phases is expected to continue until the end of the year.

Currently, Rutherford County is vaccinating individuals who are 75-years old or older. The Health Department is also vaccinating those who are in the 1a1 and 1a2 phase groups (see above image for details on these phase groups).

Murfreesboro Fire Chief Mark Foulks told WGNS that those who are permitted to get the COVID Vaccine, will do so in the State Farm parking lot.

State Farm, located at the intersection of Memorial Boulevard and DeJarnette Lane, has been designated as the official vaccination site in Murfreesboro.
