In years past, the Coldest Nights Shelter inside First Baptist Church on East Main Street and St. Paul's Episcopal Church on North Academy Street was only open when the temperature hit 32 degrees or less. This year, the shelter has been open every night and will remain open up until March 15th.

The shelter is for those who are homeless or without heat in their home.

The Murfreesboro Rescue Mission is a faith-based nonprofit seeking to create an awareness of its services and the needs of citizens experiencing homelessness. Ed Grimes helps to orchestrate the Coldest Nights program with the help of volunteers and the Murfreesboro Cold Patrol.
