Detectives need assistance identifying the person who altered a stolen check and fraudulently cashed it at Walmart this past November (2020).

The Nashville victim sent a $134 check by mail to pay a Comcast bill, but the cable company never received the payment. Pinnacle Bank informed the victim that the check was altered and written to Walmart in Murfreesboro on S. Rutherford Blvd. There, the unknown culprit purchased $600 worth of gift cards.

Originally, the victim reported the theft and fraud to Metro Nashville Police, but since the crime occurred in Murfreesboro, the MPD is now investigating the case.
