A local non-profit that works hard to help the less fortunate in Rutherford County is turning the big “1-0” (ten)! Barnabas Vision is celebrating their 10th anniversary.

Barnabas Vision Founder David Coggin wrote, “Little did we know what God would do when we stepped out in faith to encourage our community.  We have been able to touch thousands of lives.

Like many non-profits in our area, Barnabas Vision is helping local people more than ever. In fact, more residents are in need of help than ever before due to job loss or job changes caused by COVID-19. Most non-profits report they have seen numerous new faces as residents who have never needed a helping hand need just that today… a helping hand.

An upcoming Anniversary Celebration will take place on August 7th at The Grove and the Barnabas family of staff and volunteers hope to see the community at their upcoming event. Coggin said, “We hope you can join us to celebrate this special milestone.

It was around this time last year when Barnabas had to cancel their annual spring fundraiser due to the onset of the COVID-19 Pandemic. That said, a Spring event will not take place again this year because reducing the spread of COVID is still a part of our daily lives. However, the event on August 7th is still scheduled to take place, which makes the anniversary celebration important on multiple levels – one being the need to raise funds to help change more lives for the good.

Each year, the majority of funding Barnabas Vision uses comes from their Spring event, which again have not taken place for two years as of this Spring.

Coggin stated,  “We want to be able to continue to serve those who need it the most so we are humbly asking for a gift today so that we can meet the increased need of our community. Over the last year we saw many who had never had to ask for help until now.
