Advent Lutheran Church to install new lead pastor: Pastor Michelle Kuhlman

MURFREESBORO, TN - Advent Lutheran Church announced plans for an upcoming service for the installation of Pastor Michelle Kuhlman as their new lead pastor. The special service will take place on Sunday, July 25th, 2021 at 3:00PM.

Bishop Kevin Strickland of the Southeastern Synod of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA), will preside over the service. Members of the local community are invited and encouraged to attend and join Advent as it celebrates the beginning of a new chapter in their worship and community outreach ministries. An informal reception with light refreshments will immediately follow the service.

Pastor Michelle Kuhlman comes to this new call at Advent Lutheran Church after serving most recently as Interim Associate Pastor at St. Andrew Lutheran Church in Franklin, Tennessee. Prior to that, she served for 15 years as the pastor of Grace Lutheran Church in Carrollton, Georgia.

Pastor Kuhlman is a graduate of Catawba College in Salisbury, NC and Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary, and was ordained in 2005. She has been actively involved in the ELCA’s Southeastern Synod as a part of the Assembly Committee, Synod Council, Candidacy Committee, and as a strong advocate for the development of Lutheranch, a youth camp and retreat ministry in Tallapoosa, Georgia. Pastor Michelle enjoys traveling, quilting, singing, reading, and playing trivia with friends.

Advent Lutheran Church is a member congregation of the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America (ELCA) organized under its Southeastern Synod. Originally established in 1962 and in its current location since 2000, it is currently the only ELCA congregation in Murfreesboro.
