The medical doctor went on to say that wearing a mask is a huge benefit, no matter if the face covering is a medical mask or a fabric cloth, anything covering ones face is going to help slow the spread of COVID-19.


As of August 26th, there have been 49,845 COVID-19 cases in Rutherford County and 468 deaths. According to the CDC, those numbers change greatly and sometimes rapidly each day. To date, there have been 684 people hospitalized in Rutherford County and there are now 46,486 inactive or recovered cases. As of Friday, there were 2,891 "ACTIVE" COVID cases in Rutherford County and 306 NEW cases were confirmed on Friday.

To give you an idea of how many new COVID cases we have seen in Rutherford County - - in September of last year (2020) the Tennessee Department of Health reported that there were only 8,242 COVID Cases confirmed in Rutherford County. Since September of 2020, that number has climbed by 41,603 COVID cases in a little under 12-months.
