Middle Tennessee Electric is Thanking Teachers for their Dedication to Children in Rutherford County

October is known as National Co-op month, which is a great time to slow down and thank those who work for Middle Tennessee Electric.

The local utility provider was founded in 1936 and converted into a cooperative in 1939. At the time, the organization provided electricity to the more rural areas of Rutherford County. As the community grew, so did the member-owned electric provider.

While National co-op month may be a time to thank cooperatives that serve their community, Middle Tennessee Electric is showing their appreciation to the community they serve.

Middle Tennessee Electric

The local utility provider was founded in 1936 and is the largest electric cooperative in the Tennessee Valley Authority (TVA) region. It is also the second largest in the United States, serving more than 600,000 Tennesseans.

The non-profit provides service to multiple cities and counties in Middle Tennessee that include not only Rutherford and Cannon Counties, but also Williamson, and Wilson Counties.
