Drop Off Drugs Saturday

Prevention Coalition for Success is conducting two Drug Take Back Events from 10:00 o'clock Saturday morning (10/23/2021) until 2:00 in the afternoon. The locations are:

  • Ascension Saint Thomas Rutherford 1700 Medical Center Parkway by the main entrance of the hospital.

  •

North Rutherford Family YMCA at 2001 Motlow College Blvd. in Smyrna. It is in the parking lot.

Drug take back events serve three important public health and safety purposes: (1) Proper disposal of unused medication prevents diversion of prescription drugs with potential for abuse. According to the DEA, non-medical use of prescriptions drugs is the second most common form of drug abuse in the United States. (2) unused medication in the home can pose a risk to young children who might accidently ingest the medication.  (3) Properly disposing of unused medication protects our environment.
